With nine stories the author aims to convey what real life on La Gomera is like.
Being a resident of La Gomera myself since almost one and a half year, I can testify that he succeeded very well in achieving that aim, by using a mixture of fiction and of what really exists and happened/happens on the island.
Its inhabitants, both native Gomeros and immigrants but also animals, feature in these stories in many different forms. Some characters in fact really seemed a bit familiar to me.
Great fun to read!
My favourite story is without a doubt: "Markttag" that I really find a little master piece!
